Beginning January 1, 2027, Choeofpleirn Press will host a new poetry book contest.
This contest is for those poets who have not yet published a full length collection of their poetry.
While contenstants may have published a poetry chapbook (usually less than 40 pages) or two, poets won't be eligible if they have a full-length (41-120 pages) collection published.
Files should be saved with a 12 point font (Georgia is preferred) with no double spacing and one-inch margins. TheĀ name of the file should be the title of the book and saved as a Word document with page numbers centered at the bottom of the pages.
Poems must be separated by page breaks, preferably one poem per page. Longer poems should indicate (stanza break) or (no stanza break) at the top of subsequent pages.
Titles must be listed with page numbers on a Contents page.
Acknowledgements of poems that have been published in literary magazines or elsewhere should be at the end of the book.
Poets should not put their name anywhere on the manuscript, although they should have a title page and a Contents page.
We will accept submissions of book manuscripts from January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027. Submissions received outside of these dates will not be included in the contest.
Our goal is to have a winner and a finalist chosen by the end of June 2027.
Since we publish rapidly, the book should be ready for purchase by the end of August 2027.
Each contestant should pay the $30 entry fee for the contest, which helps Choeofpleirn Press pay for the publication of the winning book.
Remember, you, too, want to win this contest, so your payment to enter is important for supporting other poets who also want to win, and to convince us to continue hosting this contest.
